Ryan is a hybrid sports performance coach and basketball trainer here at Sports Academy. While he specializes in basketball coaching and training, he has worked with athletes and clients of all sports and backgrounds. This training diversity allows him to assist athletes and clients with any goal, whether that be improving athleticism, muscular strength, body composition, or quality of movement.Ryan grew up playing all sports but found a love for basketball at a young age. He played four years of collegiate basketball at the University of La Verne in Southern California. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, he has found a home in Thousand Oaks. In his free time he enjoys playing golf, hiking, running, and going to the beach. Ryan earned his Master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science in the spring of 2022. He is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT). He is currently studying and preparing to sit for the TSAC-F exam and hopes to work with and train first responders in the coming months. Ryan enjoys working at Sports Academy because of the family atmosphere that has been created among the sports performance staff. The ability to have a positive impact of the level of play of his athletes, and the quality of life of his clients, is an additional reason he loves his job working at Sports Academy.
