Great Race Training Program

Sports Academy will once again be offering a training program in preparation for the Great Race of Agoura Hills 5K, 10K, Chesebro and Pacific Half Marathon on March 24, 2018. The Great Race Training Program will focus on proper progression, running form, injury prevention and proper recovery. Training will include a running schedule, one strength session, two group running sessions per week and 20% discount at Sports Academy Recovery Lounge for the duration of the training program.

Program Duration: January 3 – March 25, 2018

Workouts

Athletes will be working with Sports Academy’s experienced staff of running coaches and sports performance specialists for a Full-Circle approach to training.

Workouts are coached by Jenny Kenyon, Julia Budniak, Cathy Wuesthoff and additional trail runners to monitor the course.

Running Workouts:

Wednesday @ Local Park or Track (TBD)
9:00-10:15am (Park) or 6:00-7:15pm (Track)

Athletes will be placed in groups based on ability, experience and race goals for an interval workout. Interval training will help improve running efficiency, strength and speed for all race distances.

Saturday @ Various Locations on the Great Race Courses
Jan. 6 – March 17, 7:00-8:30am | Chumash Park in Agoura Hills

“A prepared athlete is a confident athlete”. Athletes will meet Sports Academy running coaches at various locations to run portions of the Great Race 5K, 10K & Half Marathon Courses to get familiarized with the terrain for optimum performance on Race Day.

Bootcamp Workouts:

Monday @ Sports Academy
Any SA Bootcamp Class offered on the hour at 6:00-10:00am and 4:00-7:00pm

Session will focus on increasing strength endurance, balance, and mobility/flexibility.

2-Days Per Week Program

Wednesday & Saturday group runs plus weekly training plan: $99.00 for 12-weeks*
Price increases to $139 January 1st.

3-Days Per Week Program

Any Monday bootcamp class AND Wednesday & Saturday running workouts: $169.00 for 12-weeks*
Price increases to $199 January 1st.
