Love Run Training Program

Mamba Sports Academy running coaches will be providing a comprehensive training program in preparation for the Love Run 5K, 10K & Half Marathon on June 2, 2019. Training Program will focus on proper running progression, running form, injury prevention and proper recovery. Training will include a weekly running schedule, three coach supervised running sessions per week.


8 Week Program: April 8 –June 2, 2019 (Recommended for 10K & Half Marathoners)

4 Week Program: May 6- June 2, 2019 (Recommended for 5K Runners)

Coaches: Jenny Kenyon, Cathy Wuesthoff and Additional Trail Runners to monitor the course.

Training Schedule:

Monday @ Mamba Sports Academy
6:00am, 9:00am or 6:00pm

Athletes will complete a strength conditioning session at our world-class facility. Sessions will focus on increasing strength endurance, balance, and mobility/flexibility. The 6:00am session will take place in the Sand Volleyball Courts at Sports Academy for an added challenge. The 9:00am and 6:00pm session will take place on the indoor Mondo track.

Wednesday @ Pepper Tree Park in Newbury Park
6:00am, 9:00am or 6:00pm

Athletes will be placed in groups based on ability, experience and race goals for an interval workout. Interval training will help improve running efficiency, strength and speed for all race distances.

Saturday @ Various Locations on the Love Run Course

Athletes will meet Sports Academy running coaches at various locations to run portions of the Love Run 5K, 10K & Half Marathon Courses to get familiarized with the terrain for optimum performance on Race Day.

Adult Running Club

The Adult Running Club meets weekly to work on speed and endurance in preparation for road races, trail/adventure runs, triathlons, and for general fitness.Runners will work with our skilled running coaches to perfect running form and technique, improve core strengthening, and mobility/flexibility.

Monday @ Sports Academy
6:00-7:00am: Sand Conditioning & Strength Endurance
9:00-10:15am: Easy Run + General Strength/Running Technique
6:00-7:15pm: Easy Run + General Strength/ Running Technique

Wednesday @ Pepper Tree Playfield

6:00-7:15am: Interval Training
9:00-10:15am: Interval Training
6:00-7:15pm: Interval Training

Saturday @ various locations in Ventura & LA County
7:00am: Trail or Beach Run*
