PARENTS' CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Purpose of the Program: Support the goal of our program, which is to help young athletes develop into individuals of empathy, integrity, and resilience who will lead, be responsible, and contribute positively to their communities.
  • Support for Coaches: Applaud actions in your child and their teammates that demonstrate integrity, empathy, teamwork, and responsibility both on and off the field. Recognize effort and commitment beyond just athletic ability.
  • Growth and Maturity: Appreciate and acknowledge your child’s growth towards maturity, especially as they build stronger relationships with teammates, coaches, and themselves.
  • Character First: Praise your child and their teammates for displaying strong character, good sportsmanship, and a team-first attitude. Avoid affirming only their athletic performance or victories.
  • Positive Role Model: Lead by example. Act politely and respectfully toward coaches, officials, other parents, visiting team supporters, and spectators at practices, games, and meetings.
  • Sportsmanship: Celebrate the efforts of all team members and respect the hard work of opponents. Accept losses gracefully by congratulating the opposing team on a game well played. Support the team wholeheartedly, regardless of the game outcome or how much playtime your child receives.
  • Encouragement: Encourage your child and their teammates with positivity, even when they make mistakes. Every practice and game is an opportunity for physical, emotional, and character growth.
  • Commitment to the Code: As a parent with the ability to influence every player positively, I commit to this Code of Conduct. If I fall short of these standards, I accept accountability and responsibility for my actions.

    PLAYERS’  CODE  OF  CONDUCT
  • I take full responsibility for my behavior on and off the field, recognizing that my actions impact my teammates and others, either positively or negatively.
  • Respect: I show respect for myself, my coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, spectators, and my family by being polite and considerate in words and actions.
  • Equality: I do not judge others based on race, gender, religion, background, or abilities. Instead, I judge people by their character.
  • Role Model: I serve as a role model by speaking politely and acting courteously toward everyone. I recognize that representing my family, school, and community as an athlete is a privilege.
  • Effort: I give 100% effort at practices, games, and team activities, understanding that my commitment and work ethic reflect my respect for the sport, my coaches, and my teammates.

Answer: No, there are no residential restrictions, allowing teams to form freely from any area.

The season is 8 weeks long with one game played each Saturday. There is a holiday break on the last Saturday in December.

The competitive division is made
up of teams that have registered as a full team with a coach. These teams have
played together as a team for multiple seasons.

The recreation division is a
developmental league made up of teams that have been put together by us. It is
for players that are learning about flag football. These teams are coached by
parents who have indicated on their registration form that they would like to
coach.

It depends on who your head coach will be and what day he/she decides
to run practice. The league commissioner will try to reserve field space for
practices. However, the days and times of those practices are based on what
Parks and Recreation has available. Also, note that the only mandatory practice
is the gameday pre-practice. However, it is recommended that you attend all
practices your coach schedules.

Yes, but you will be placed in the competitive division as opposed to the recreation division, unless your team is made up of beginning players that want to play together.

Teams are typically comprised of 8-10 players per team. Depending on the enrollment for each division.

Yes. Players can play up a
division but never down a division.
