A.J., an Atlanta native, has enjoyed much success as a basketball player from high school through his pro career. As a teen player, he helped his teams win two AAU National Championships, a state championship in ‘99 at Westlake High School, and was voted ‘Player of the Year’ during both his junior and senior years. As a college player, A.J. signed with Indiana University, as a member of Bobby Knight’s final recruiting class, and was a pivotal member of the 2002 Big Ten Championship, and the NCAA Championship Runner-UP. Additionally, A.J. was an All-Big Ten player throughout his college career. Following college, A.J played professional basketball in the USA and overseas for seven seasons where he won a host of championships and accolades.
Since 2011, A.J. has focused his passion for basketball on coaching. His knowledge of the game and attention to discipline are his calling card. “Effort, Focus, and Perseverance” are all focal points in his training program. In his role as coach, he has helped athletes as young as 5 years old, all the way up to professional basketball players develop their skills and competitive edge. As a high school coach, he led Oaks Christian High School to a CIF State Championship. Additionally, while at Impact Basketball and Rivals Sports Group, he helped NBA All-Stars and many up and coming players of the next generation develop cutting edge skills giving them the foundation for the next phase of their career.

George Quintero is considered one of the most influential people in youth basketball. With a simple but intense practical approach to the game, he coaches and counsels every one of his players to be exceptional “athletes.” George has coached elite-level youth and high-school club/AAU basketball across Southern California for 35+ years. Gerald is new to the Sports Academy coaching staff and is a North Carolina native. He has played basketball at the high school, collegiate, and professional level (overseas). He attended Barton College in Wilson, NC where he was the starting point guard for four years. Gerald experience tons of success during his tenure at Barton: Freshmen of Year, All Conference (4x), Conference Player of the Year, and much more. He was also named D2 All American and currently holds his schools all-time scoring record with 1984 total points.More about Gerald
