Kirsten is a Staff Physical Therapist at Sports Academy. She is a member of the Integrated Sports Medicine Department and treats a variety of orthopedic patients. She has recently joined the team this past year and continues to learn how to flourish in an advanced orthopedic setting.
Kirsten graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State University, Channel Islands. She then took a two-year gap within her studies to further advance her knowledge within the field of physical therapy. Kirsten continued to intern, as a physical therapy aide, at a local orthopedics sports clinic in Orange County and part-time within the inpatient hospital setting. She then attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA in order to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her final year of PT school, she completed a 14-week clinical internship at Sports Academy. She quickly learned that a fast-paced and cutting edge environment was what she needed to challenge her orthopedic skills. Since graduating, she strives to apply clinical concepts from her previous internships; which include pediatrics, neuromuscular, and orthopedic patient populations. Kirsten continues to broaden her knowledge by completing continuing education courses in the orthopedic, sports, and neuromuscular realm; as well as keep updated in current research to better provide for her patients.
Kirsten is originally from La Quinta, CA and eventually moved North to escape the desert heat. She grew up playing recreational and club soccer for Desert United Soccer Club. Kirsten continued to play during her undergraduate career on CSUCI’s women’s club soccer team. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, going to the beach, eating good food, and enjoying the company of her dog, family, and boyfriend.
