Tips to Stay Mentally Well While Social Distancing

We love helping you stay physically well. It’s what we do, and it’s why we’re releasing a slew of daily workout options – for free.

But just as important is making sure that we’re all putting some energy towards our mental well-being, too. That approach is always prudent, but it feels especially so during this time of ongoing uncertainty and change precipitated by COVID-19 and its fallout.

This week, once again, we’re turning to Sports Academy’s Dr. Stephanie Cacioppo, PhD, a leading authority on social brain dynamics with a specific focus on the neurobiology of emotions and their impact on brain health and human performance. She’s here to offer more guidance on taking care of your mental health.

  • Stay positive. Covid-19, too, will pass.
  • Regain control of your life. Plan tomorrow in 24 seconds. Clear your mind, and think about the three things you want to get done tomorrow. Take it one day at a time.
  • Just before you go to bed tonight, write down three good things you’re are thankful for. Gratitude increases well-being.
  • Embrace today as an opportunity to learn more about your friends and family. Be socially curious.
  • Look in the mirror and smile.

Hopefully, these small steps will help you and the ones you love.
