Danielle Cooper PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS Senior Physical Therapist

Danielle is a Senior Physical Therapist at Sports Academy who specializes in treatment of orthopedic disorders. She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Danielle is originally from Wisconsin, and now enjoys being able to explore the outdoors year-round in California.

Dr. Eddie Stanislawski DC, CSCS, DACBSP Chiropractor

Through Dr. Eddie’s advanced Sports Medicine training, he has been named as an official medical provider for the US National Field Hockey Team, the US National Archery Team, and the US National Beach Volleyball Teams. Dr. Eddie travels internationally to tournaments to provide medical support for our nation’s most elite athletes.

Beau brings with him over 10 years of hands-on experience in Sports Medicine. Beau is a co-owner of Body Dynamix Chiropractic & Performance that will be partnering with Sports Academy by providing all of our medical services in-house.

Nate Borunda Co-Founder and Director of Elite Performance

Nate is one of the co-founding partners of Sports Academy and directs the elite performance programs in the facility. Nate also directly works with Sports Academy’s actor & entertainer program to develop role transformations and facilitates on sight training. Groups such as NETFLIX and WARNER BROS have contracted Nate as an onsite trainer. Nate also oversees and directs Sports Academy Tennis performance program. Nate became the head performance coach for Maria Sharapova in 2019.

Daniel Hernandez Performance Coach

Daniel Hernandez was born and raised in Oxnard, California, where he continues to play soccer and enjoys weightlifting. He earned his B.S. in Exercise Science from California State Northridge, M.S. in Exercise Science from California Baptist University, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the NSCA. When he is not training he enjoys DJing to Hip-Hop and EDM, watching the latest scary movies, or watching his favorite soccer team, Real Madrid, play.

Justin Reading Sports Performance Manager

Justin Reading’s duty at Sports Academy is to guide people he comes in contact with while helping achieve their full potential in life. Whether the goal is Increasing Strength, Speed, Size, Fitness Level, or just simply decreasing pain and improving function, He enjoys helping them conquer their goals. He is constantly learning from members/athletes and co-workers and strives to always better himself as a person and coach. His certifications include NASM CPT/CES, IYCA HSS&CC, NSPA CSAC/CWPC, SFMA 1, and NREMT.

Christine Yangson Performance Coach

Christine Yangson is a Performance Coach as well an assistant coach for the Girls VB 15-1s team. As one of the few female sports performance coaches at Sports Academy’s, Christine dedicates an extensive amount of time and personal research into performance training, mobility, plyometrics, and nutrition and teaches several Sports Academy classes including Jump Training. Christine’s love for the game has driven her passion for coaching volleyball since 2006 holding roles as both head and an assistant at the club and High School levels.

Trevor Kanteman Performance Coach

Trevor is one of our Performance Coaches at Sports Academy. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is also certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). After playing Division I Football, Trevor returned to his hometown of Simi Valley and began working at Sports Academy where he found his passion in Sports Performance.

Taylor is an expert in the field of human performance development. As a former D1 Football player, he dedicated his early career to delivering an actionable approach for the development and mastery of fundamental movement skills to athletes from grassroots through every level of sport. Taylor is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a master’s graduate of biomechanics and focuses on keeping athletes healthy and strong so they can compete and continue to chase their dreams.

Rich Barraza has joined the Sports Academy team to help coach and develop the boys and girls club volleyball programs. Rich is coming off his 3rd year as the women’s volleyball Head Coach for Los Angeles Mission College after serving one year with the Pepperdine’s men’s volleyball program as volunteer assistant coach under legendary Head Coach Marv Dunphy and then Associate Head Coach, David Hunt.

George Quintero is considered one of the most influential people in youth basketball. With a simple but intense practical approach to the game, he coaches and counsels every one of his players to be exceptional “athletes.” George has coached elite-level youth and high-school club/AAU basketball across Southern California for 35+ years. His distinguished career has produced hundreds of NCAA Division I athletes and professional players across the globe.

Phil Muscarella Director of Soccer and Sports Performance Coach

Phil graduated with a bachelors degree in psychology and minor in sociology from the prestigious Santa Clara University. He was name captain of the men’s D1 soccer program his Junior and Senior year. Upon graduating a quarter early, Phil was able to gain a personal training certificate through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and received a coaching ‘E’ license through FIFA.

Lauren is an Assistant Manager in Integrated Sports Medicine at Sports Academy. Gerald Boston Basketball Coach

Gerald is new to the Sports Academy coaching staff and is a North Carolina native. He has played basketball at the high school, collegiate, and professional level (overseas). He attended Barton College in Wilson, NC where he was the starting point guard for four years. Gerald experience tons of success during his tenure at Barton: Freshmen of Year, All Conference (4x), Conference Player of the Year, and much more. He was also named D2 All American and currently holds his schools all-time scoring record with 1984 total points.
